The Red Sox Foundation Rookie League introduces baseball to children, ages 5-12, in economically disadvantaged areas and promotes good sportsmanship and respect for adults and peers. The Rookie League program gives kids in Boston’s inner city the opportunity to be part of a safe, organized athletic program where they learn life skills through the game of baseball. Learn more.
The Red Sox Foundation “Wally’s Team,” a MA Little League initiative.
The Red Sox Foundation-sponsored teams in the Massachusetts Little League are named “Wally’s Team.” Their mission is to educate children on the importance of character, discipline, teamwork and physical fitness. In addition to offering team sponsorships, the Foundation sponsors the annual MA Little League State Tournament in the summer and distributes awards such as the Volunteer of the Year. Learn more.
